This was a hard decision whether to buy Coleman 8 Person Instant Tent. The reviews were mixed and for me this was a lot of money to spend on a tent. But I wanted something quick to set up and something that I could walk in without having to bend over. We have used Coleman 8 Person Instant Tent 3 times now and here is my opinion. The first 2 times we could not figure out why the tent seemed so loose on the top, not pulled tight like the picture. By the third time up we figured out that we were not snapping the 4 top arms into place.

The instructions are a little vague or we just did not understand. Once we figured that out it made a big difference. So can you put Coleman Instant Tent 8 up in 1 minute. No. The 2 of us it takes about 5 minutes to get it snapped into place, but then you have to stake it down. There are 6 stakes and that is not counting the tie downs if you stake those. We tend to try to stake everything because we have run into a lot of bad weather camping. So all in all maybe about 20 to 30 minutes from start to finish and that includes the rainfly.

That's right we ordered this extra. I always put these on because it always rains where we camp and the nights are always cold. So once you get it set up it is very big inside. For the 2 of us and our large dog we have lots of space for all our stuff. We have had pretty bad wind and one rain storm and the tent held up fine. Now here is what I don't like about Coleman Instant Tent 8. The door zipper sucks. Yes they have an extra rain guard on it, but you always have to use 2 hands to zip and unzip and it is always getting stuck in the material. Ugh. This is where my boyfriend and I are cussing at the tent all the time.

When will someone design a better door system for tents. Also I think the material may be flimsy. I have already noticed a tiny pinhole in one corner of the roof and one on the floor. For only 3 times use this should not have happened. So should you spend the money for Coleman 8 Person Instant Tent? So far I like it, it does go up easier than our old one and taking it down (once you get the hang of it) is easy too. We have never had a problem getting it back in the bag. Please know that this tent is super heavy and will take up considerable car space. All in all I have to recommend Coleman 8 Person Instant Tent.
