We got Coleman Instant 8 Tent to keep in our race car trailer so we'd have a place to stay at the races when it was too far to go to a motel. I've only had a couple of tents and hated them because of how difficult they were to set up and the limited space for someone to stay in one.

Coleman Instant Tent 8 was a pleasant surprise. We set it up once before we used it just to see how hard it really was. It took my son and I maybe 4 minutes to set up the first time and at the track with two people less than two minutes each morning. It was so easy to set up and take down it was no nuisance at all to take it down every morning and put it in the bag so it was out of the way. It rained on us heavily two nights in a row and we never had a bit of water in the tent and that was with no extra seam sealer or any other water proofing applied. We did have the window flaps mostly closed as it was cool enough to be able to do that and sleep comfortably.

We had 3 people in the Coleman Instant 8 Tent with plenty of room and a 6' plus headroom. I would say it would be comfortable for 4 adults pretty easily or a family of 2 adults and 3 or so children. Beyond that and it's going to get pretty cramped. I would buy a cheap tarp to put on the ground under the tent and protect the floor. We didn't have any issues but it was a concern having it directly exposed to rocks and other debris that might be at the track tearing the floor. I've bought a lot of Coleman stuff over the years. For the past few years, they have been bad investments. I was very reluctant to buy this tent since I had many recent Coleman purchases broken or returned, but the reviews on Amazon made me feel like gambling. I am happy to say that this is a good investment. Easy to set up and take down. Plenty of room. The door zipper was a little tricky when half a sleep as it got stuck in the fabric a lot, but that's true of most tents. It didn't rain when I was camping, and I haven't sealed the seams. Had a few Coleman tents years ago (before I had problems) and never had to seal them. Wanted to see if this one actually needed it or not. Some of the reviews said it leaked and some said it didn't. Oh yeh, it was a tight squeeze on one side, but I got this tent back in the bag on the first try. I'm giving it 5 stars, but it'll only be 4.5 if it leaks. I definitely recommend this one.

I just got a replacement tent and a fly promised I would get from Coleman consumer service. It is a long story why my tent purchased needed to be replaced. I will say from experience the instant tent is well worth buying. Getting the new fly being offered for certain models of the instant tent makes this tent even more desirable to own. I can't wait until spring or maybe a trip south next month to use this new tent. Hey if you have some time one day check out the sister sites Coleman has. There is numerous versions of the instant tent I assume made for the countries they are being sold in. I like the Coleman Australian site as well as others. Have a good one folks. I am going to set up the new tent and check out how it looks with the new fly.
